Empowering Giza: A Second Chance to Thrive

At just two years old, Giza’s life took a heartbreaking turn. An accident left him with a brain injury that caused paralysis and blindness on his left side, as well as mental disabilities. Now, at thirteen, Giza is growing up in the care of his widowed mother, who works tirelessly to provide for him and his two siblings.

For years, Giza struggled in a traditional classroom, unable to keep up with the lessons and becoming increasingly frustrated. After four years in grade one without progressing, he refused to return, feeling isolated and out of place.

But then everything changed.

Thanks to the opening of our specialized school, Giza finally found a place where he belongs. With individualized lessons and the support of a dedicated teacher, he is not only learning but also making incredible strides in his development. He’s beginning to grasp objects with his left hand and kick a ball with his left foot—things he hasn’t been able to do since he was two years old! More importantly, he has found friendship, confidence, and a sense of belonging among his classmates.

Right now, Giza’s class is studying on an open porch, completely exposed to the elements. We are raising funds to build a safe, enclosed school building to protect our students and provide them with the environment they deserve.
