Theophila became disabled when she was 2 years old. She is non-verbal, but can stand and take a few steps with support. She requires constant care. Theophila lives with her mother Claudine. Claudine’s father left the family after realizing that they had a disabled child. Her mother is currently unemployed. Theophila has three siblings. Hers family attends the Abageni ba yesu Church.

She lives with her mother Francine and father Jean Marie who has a part time job, however, it is not enough to provide for their family. Uwase has three other siblings and her family attends the Pentecost church (ADPR)
