This holiday season, many of us ask: How can we teach our children that Christmas is truly about giving—not just getting?
This Christmas, we invite your family to participate in a meaningful, hands-on activity that will make a lasting difference in the life of a child with special needs in Rwanda:
The Five Dollar Gift Challenge.
What is the $5 Gift Challenge?
It's a simple, impactful way to show your child the power of their kindness. We are asking your family to help a student at our special needs school in Rwanda by choosing a vital school supply for just $5.
These aren't just supplies; a sensory toy, a set of crayons, or a picture card is a lifeline that gives a forgotten child hope, love, and a voice.
How to Participate with Your Child:
The focus is on the effort of giving. Here are three simple ways your child can raise or contribute the $5:
The Chore Challenge: Encourage them to earn $5 by completing extra chores around the house this week (e.g., rake leaves, wash the car, organize the pantry).
Allowance Contribution: Help them choose to spend a portion of their saved allowance on this gift instead of a treat for themselves.
The Family Shop: If they can't earn it, give them a crisp $5 bill and take them through the online "shopping" process below, letting them make the final choice.
