Seeds of Change — Building a Future for Benjamin
“A School for All: Why We Must Build”
Meet Benjamin—a cheerful, loving 16-year-old boy with Down syndrome. We met him during our seminar, and his smile is unforgettable. His local school allows him to attend, but the reality is heartbreaking: Benjamin is unable to speak, and his teachers fear he’s gaining little from the lessons. When he gets bored or confused, it’s hard to keep him engaged. He’s physically present, but educationally excluded.
Benjamin deserves more.

We would love to welcome him into our school, where children with disabilities are not just included—they’re celebrated. But we’re facing a challenge: our classroom is already overcrowded. On sunny days, the children spill out beyond the borders of our porch-turned-classroom. But when it rains, there’s nowhere to go. We need more space. We need more staff. We need help.
To give Benjamin—and children like him—the education they deserve, we need a second teaching assistant to support our lead teacher. We need to build proper classrooms that shelter our students and allow them to learn with dignity. And thanks to weeks of hard work, we’ve taken a major step forward: the land has finally been transferred into Living Channel’s name, which means we can now get a building permit and start building
This is fantastic news. But it’s also a call to action.
We’ve seen firsthand the desperate need for an accessible school. Parents are pleading with us for help. They want their children to learn, to grow, to be part of something. And we want to say yes. We want to open our doors wider, build more classrooms, and hire more staff. But we can’t do it alone.
Benjamin’s story is not unique—but it is urgent.
He represents countless children who are waiting for someone to believe in them. Waiting for a classroom that welcomes them. Waiting for a teacher who sees their potential.
What would it mean to a child like Benjamin to be truly seen, heard, and taught?
